Abstract
A membrane composite comprising a polymeric membrane panel, an adhesive layer, and a release member, where the adhesive layer is a pressure-sensitive adhesive that is at least partially cured, and where the adhesive layer has a thickness of at least 102 μm
Claims8
A method of constructing a roof system, the method comprising:
- (i) providing a roofing membrane composite including:
- a) a thermoset EPDM membrane panel, said panel having first and second planar surfaces;
- b) a pressure-sensitive adhesive layer disposed on said first planar surface of said thermoset EPDM membrane panel, said pressure-sensitive adhesive layer being formed by applying a layer of curable hot-melt adhesive composition to said first planar surface and then at least partially curing the curable hot-melt adhesive composition, where the curable hot-melt adhesive composition includes a polyacrylate elastomer;
- and
- c) a release member;
- (ii) providing a roof substrate;
- (iii) positioning the thermoset EPDM membrane panel over the roof substrate;
- (iv) removing the release member from the roofing membrane composite;
- and
- (v) adhering the thermoset EPDM membrane panel to the roof substrate by contacting the pressure-sensitive adhesive layer to the roof substrate.
