Abstract
A battery module includes a cell assembly including a plurality of battery cells stacked, a module case accommodating the cell assembly, and a busbar assembly coupled to the module case and electrically connected to the plurality of battery cells, wherein the cell assembly includes an interrupt member configured to cover a portion of the plurality of battery cells to prevent thermal propagation to adjacent battery cells in a stack direction of the plurality of battery cells upon an occurrence of a thermal event in at least one battery cell.

A battery module, comprising:
- a cell assembly including a plurality of battery cells stacked in a stack direction;
- a module case accommodating the cell assembly;
- and
- a busbar assembly coupled to the module case, and electrically connected to the plurality of battery cells,
- wherein the cell assembly includes at least one interrupt member configured to cover a portion of at least one battery cell of the plurality of battery cells to prevent thermal propagation to adjacent battery cells in the stack direction upon an occurrence of a thermal event in the at least one battery cell of the plurality of battery cells.
