Abstract
Provided is a global bag tag system and method of use, the method including: assigning, by at least one of at least one processor, a tracking device to a luggage item of a passenger; loading, by at least one of the at least one processor, information from a baggage source message (BSM) into the tracking device; and sending, by the tracking device, location information to a network interface of a computing system associated with the at least one processor, wherein the location information comprises location coordinate data of the tracking device and the information from the BSM.
Claims87
A method comprising:
- assigning, by at least one of at least one processor, a tracking device to a luggage item of a passenger;
- loading, by at least one of the at least one processor, information from a baggage source message (BSM) into the tracking device;
- and
- sending, by the tracking device, location information to a network interface of a computing system associated with the at least one processor, wherein the location information comprises location coordinate data of the tracking device and the information from the BSM.
A system comprising:
- a computing system comprising at least one processor and a network interface;
- at least one non-transitory, tangible memory communicatively coupled to the at least one processor, the at least one memory storing at least one instruction;
- and
- a tracking device configured to send location information to the network interface,
- wherein the at least one processor is configured to execute the at least one instruction to:
- assign the tracking device to a luggage item of a passenger;
- and
- load information from a baggage source message (BSM) into the tracking device;
- and
- wherein the location information comprises location coordinate data of the tracking device and the information from the BSM.
A non-transitory computer readable medium having instructions stored therein, which when executed by at least one processor cause the at least one processor to execute a method comprising:
- assigning, by at least one of the at least one processor, a tracking device to a luggage item of a passenger;
- loading, by at least one of the at least one processor, information from a baggage source message (BSM) into the tracking device;
- and
- sending, by the tracking device, location information to a network interface of a computing system associated with the at least one processor, wherein the location information comprises location coordinate data of the tracking device and the information from the BSM.
A method comprising:
- storing, in at least one memory of a tracking device, a travel application number associated with a passenger;
- pairing, by the tracking device, with a service device associated with an airline carrier, an airport, a government agency, or a business entity;
- sending, by the tracking device, the travel application number to the service device;
- and
- causing the service device to perform a function based on the received travel application number, wherein the tracking device is affixed to a luggage item of the passenger.
A system comprising:
- a tracking device comprising:
- at least one processor;
- and
- at least one non-transitory, tangible memory communicatively coupled to the at least one processor, the at least one memory storing at least one instruction;
- wherein the at least one processor is configured to execute the at least one instruction to:
- store in the at least one memory a travel application number associated with a passenger,
- pair the tracking device with a service device associated with an airline carrier, an airport, a government agency, or a business entity, and
- send the travel application number to the service device,
- wherein the travel application number is configured to cause the service device to perform a function when the travel application device is received by the service device, and
- wherein the tracking device is affixed to a luggage item of the passenger.
A non-transitory computer readable medium having instructions stored therein, which when executed by at least one processor cause the at least one processor to execute a method comprising:
- storing, in at least one memory of a tracking device, a travel application number associated with a passenger;
- pairing, by the tracking device, with a service device associated with an airline carrier, an airport, a government agency, or a business entity;
- sending, by the tracking device, the travel application number to the service device;
- and
- causing the service device to perform a function based on the received travel application number, wherein the tracking device is affixed to a luggage item of the passenger.
