Abstract
Solutions are disclosed that request call context from the caller prior to answer by the called user equipment (UE). When the called UE receives an incoming call from a second (calling) UE, without accepting the incoming call, the called UE sends a real time text (RTT), to the calling UE, requesting context for the call. When the calling UE responds, the user of the called UE may make an informed decision of whether to accept the incoming call. In some examples, the RTT request for call context and the RTT response are carried over default bearers for the calling and called UEs, prior to call acceptance, at which point dedicated bearers are set up for both UEs.
Claims20
A method of wireless communication, the method comprising:
- receiving, by a first user equipment (UE) operating on a wireless network, an incoming call from a second UE;
- without accepting the incoming call, transmitting, by the first UE, to the second UE, a real time text (RTT) request for call context over a default bearer;
- and
- receiving, by the first UE, from the second UE, over the default bearer, an RTT response to the request for call context.
A system comprising:
- a processor;
- and
- a computer-readable medium storing instructions that are operative upon execution by the processor to:
- receive, by a first user equipment (UE) operating on a wireless network, an incoming call from a second UE;
- without accepting the incoming call, transmit, by the first UE, to the second UE, a real time text (RTT) request for call context over a default bearer;
- and
- receive, by the first UE, from the second UE, over the default bearer, an RTT response to the request for call context.
One or more computer storage devices having computer-executable instructions stored thereon, which, upon execution by a computer, cause the computer to perform operations comprising:
- receiving, by a first user equipment (UE) operating on a wireless network, an incoming call from a second UE;
- without accepting the incoming call, transmitting, by the first UE, to the second UE, a real time text (RTT) request for call context over a default bearer;
- and
- receiving, by the first UE, from the second UE, over the default bearer, an RTT response to the request for call context.
