Described herein is a building panel comprising a fibrous substrate; and a coating applied to the substrate, the coating comprising a blend of: an antimicrobial composition, a binder, and a pigment, wherein the antimicrobial composition comprises a boro-phosphate ester zinc compound.

- a fibrous substrate;

- a coating applied to the substrate, the coating comprising a blend of:
- an antimicrobial composition;
- a binder;

- a pigment;
- wherein the antimicrobial composition comprises boro-phosphate ester zinc compound.
