Abstract
Shippable modular units configured for use in sequestering CO2 are provided. Aspects of the units include a support having one or more of: a CO2 gas/liquid contactor subunit, a carbonate production subunit and an alkali enrichment subunit; associated therewith. Also provided are systems made up of one or more such modular units, and methods for using the units/systems in CO2 sequestration protocols.

A system configured to sequester CO2 from a gaseous source of CO2, the system comprising:
- one or more CO2 gas/liquid contactor modular units;
- and
- one or more carbonate production modular units operably coupled to the one or more CO2 gas/liquid contactor modular units;
- wherein the number of CO2 gas/liquid contactor modular units is different from the number of carbonate production modulator units.
A method of producing a system configured to sequester CO2 from a gaseous source of CO2 at a CO2 sequestration location, the method comprising:
- assessing the CO2 sequestration requirements of the CO2 sequestration location;
- and
- determining the configuration of a CO2 sequestration system sufficient to meet the requirements of the CO2 sequestration location.
