Abstract
A filter body is provided with a filter medium that has filter layers arranged one over the other, wherein each filter layer is provided with at least one active material. The at least one active material may be the same in each of the filter layers. The filter layers are flowed through serially one after another in a through-flow direction of the filter body. The filter body is provided with sensor devices arranged one after another in the through-flow direction of the filter body, wherein each sensor device is arranged between neighboring filter layers so that the sensor devices in the through-flow direction of the filter body determine a sorption capacity of the at least one active material of each filter layer over a service life of the filter body.
Claims20
A filter element comprising:
- a filter body comprising a filter medium having a plurality of filter layers arranged one over the other, wherein each filter layer comprises at least one active material, and wherein the filter layers are configured to be flowed through in series one after another in a through-flow direction of the filter body;
- and
- a plurality of sensor devices arranged in series one after another in the through-flow direction of the filter body, each sensor device positioned between neighboring filter layers and operable to determine a sorption capacity of the at least one active material of a corresponding one of the filter layers;
- wherein the sensor devices are configured to penetrate into the filter body and to pull out of the filter body.
A filter element comprising:
- a filter body, wherein the filter body comprises:
- a filter medium having a plurality of filter layers arranged one over the other, wherein each of the filter layers comprises at least one active material, and wherein the filter layers are configured to be flowed through serially in a through-flow direction of the filter body;
- a plurality of sensor devices arranged one after another in the through-flow direction of the filter body, each sensor device positioned between two filter layers in the through-flow direction of the filter body to determine a sorption capacity of the at least one active material of a corresponding one of the filter layers over a service life of the filter body;
- wherein the sensor devices are configured to penetrate into the filter medium of the filter body with the filter element inserted into a filter receptacle and to pull out of the filter medium of the filter body with the filter element removed from the filter receptacle.
