The disclosed hybrid vehicle (1) is a hybrid vehicle (1) including an engine (2), a motor (3), a generator (4), and a controller (10) that controls an operating state of at least the engine (2), and performs series driving in which driving force from the motor (3) drives the vehicle while driving force from the engine (2) causes the generator (4) to generate electric power. The hybrid vehicle (1) has a normal mode in which a driver requesting output is set according to an accelerator opening degree and a sport mode in which the driver requesting output is set to be equal to or higher than the driver requesting output set in the normal mode according to the accelerator opening degree. The controller (10) sets a first minimum rotational speed (ω1) of the engine (2) in the sport mode higher than a second minimum rotational speed (ω2) of the engine (2) in the normal mode during series driving.
