Abstract
There is described a kit for repairing damages in tubular elements, particularly methane gas pipelines, that includes: a filler material configured for application at a damage of a tubular element in order to occlude a lumen of said damage, a lining material configured for application onto an outer surface of said tubular element in order to cover said damage, and a shell configured for application onto at least part of said lining material at an external position to said lining material. Moreover, there is described a method for repairing damages in tubular elements by employing the kit.
Claims17
A kit for repairing damages in tubular elements, including methane gas pipelines, comprising:
- a lining material configured for application onto an outer surface of said tubular element to cover the damage,
- a shell configured for application onto at least part of said lining material at an external position to said lining material,
- wherein said lining material comprises continuous fibers with an elastic modulus according to ASTM C1557 standard of 20 GPa or more, and a tensile strength according to ASTM C1557 standard of 200 MPa or more, and
- wherein said shell comprises a first layer and a second layer, said first layer being configured for facing said lining material, and said second layer being configured for facing outwards,
- said first layer of said shell having a compression modulus of elasticity according to ASTM D1621 and C365/C365M standards between 10 MPa and 5 GPa, and a thickness between 2 mm and 50 mm,
- the second layer of said shell having a flexural modulus of elasticity according to ASTM E855 or D790 standards, alternatively, greater than or equal to 1 GPa, and a thickness preferably between (90/E)1/3 mm and (1/E) mm, wherein E represents the numerical value of the flexural modulus of elasticity according to ASTM E855 or D790 standards expressed in GPa.
