Abstract
An ultrasonic probe includes at least one piezoelectric element configured to transmit and receive ultrasonic waves. The at least one piezoelectric element includes a piezoelectric material formed by a sol-gel process, and at least one electrode being in contact with the piezoelectric material and containing a conductive elastomer.

An ultrasonic probe comprising:
- at least one piezoelectric element configured to transmit and receive ultrasonic waves,
- wherein the at least one piezoelectric element comprises:
- a piezoelectric material formed by a sol-gel process, and
- at least one electrode being in contact with the piezoelectric material and containing a conductive elastomer.
A method for manufacturing an ultrasonic probe including at least one piezoelectric element configured to transmit and receive ultrasonic waves, the method comprising:
- manufacturing the at least one piezoelectric element,
- wherein the manufacturing comprises:
- forming a piezoelectric material by a sol-gel process;
- and
- forming at least one electrode by applying a conductive elastomer onto the piezoelectric material and curing the conductive elastomer.
