Abstract
The present invention relates to a printed circuit board (PCB) substrate, comprising at least one top surface, at least one bottom surface. The printed circuit board (PCB) substrate further comprises: 60 to 90 wt % of cellulosic fibers having a length of maximum 10 mm, 0 to 10 wt % of a curing catalyst and 10 to 40 wt % of a binding agent selected form the group consisting of: cellulose, hemicellulose, furan and derivatives thereof, lignin and combinations thereof.
Claims21
A printed circuit board (PCB) substrate, comprising:
- at least one top surface,
- at least one bottom surface,
- characterized in that, the printed circuit board (PCB) further comprises:
- 60 to 90 wt % of cellulosic fibers having a length of maximum 10 mm,
- 0 to 10 wt % of a curing catalyst and
- 10 to 40 wt % of a binding agent selected form the group consisting of:
- cellulose, hemicellulose, furan and derivatives thereof, lignin and combinations thereof.
A method for manufacturing a printed circuit board (PCB) substrate comprising at least one top surface and one bottom surface, the method comprising the steps of:
- a) providing at least one sheet of cellulosic fibers having a maximum length of 10 mm;
- b) impregnating the at least one sheet of cellulosic fibers with a mix of an acidic curing catalyst and a binding agent selected form the group consisting of:
- cellulose, hemicellulose, furan and derivatives thereof, lignin and combinations thereof, to obtain a PCB substrate.
