Exclusive Delivery of Content Within Geographic Areas

A system for creating and off-loading location awareness, comprising:

• an instance of an application program operably configured for enabling location-based content to be presented to an application program user;
• a processing system comprising at least one processor and at least one non-transitory computer-readable medium coupled to the at least one processor, wherein the at least one non-transitory computer-readable medium has at least one set of instructions accessible therefrom that is executable by the at least one processor, wherein the at least one set of instructions includes instructions embodying the application program, and wherein execution of the at least one set of instructions by the at least one processor enables the processing system to perform operations comprising:
• determining that each of a plurality of content providers has a physical locations within a designated geographic area and that a mobile device on which the instance of the application program resides and is executable has entered the designated geographic area;
• comparing, based on a current location of the mobile device within the designated geographic area, travel time required for arriving at at least two different ones of the content provider physical locations;
• after said comparing is performed and in response to receiving a content delivery request issued by the application program while the mobile device remains within the designated geographic area, determining a closest one of the content provider physical locations to the mobile device based upon travel time;
• and
• causing only content accessible from a source of content associated with the content provider corresponding to the closest one of the physical locations to be transmitted from the source of content for reception by the mobile device, wherein the source of content is remotely located from the mobile device.

A system having at least one non-transitory computer-readable medium carrying at least one set of instructions configured for verifying interactions between parties engaged in said creation and off-loading of location awareness, and execution of the at least one set of instructions by at least one processor enables the system to perform operations comprising:

• recording, in a data storage location accessibly by the one or more processors, an application key uniquely associated with an application program;
• receiving, from a mobile device, an application key and a geometric construct that at least partially defines a geographic area of interest;
• recording, in a data storage location accessibly by the one or more processors, information defining an association between the geographic area of interest and at least one of the application program and the mobile device;
• determining that the mobile device has entered the geographic area of interest;
• receiving, from the instance of the application program, a content delivery request including the application key;
• comparing the application key received with the content delivery request with a reference application assigned to the application program;
• and
• in response to the application key matching the reference key and a determination that the mobile device has entered the geographic area of interest, causing at least a portion of said content requested in the content delivery request to be transmitted for reception by the mobile device.

A method for verifying interactions between parties engaged in a creation and off-loading of location awareness, the method comprising:

• recording, in a data storage location accessibly by one or more processors, an application key uniquely associated with an application program;
• receiving, from a mobile device, an application key and a geometric construct that at least partially defines a geographic area of interest;
• recording, in a data storage location accessibly by the one or more processors, information defining an association between the geographic area of interest and at least one of the application program and the mobile device;
• determining that the mobile device has entered the geographic area of interest;
• receiving, from the instance of the application program, a content delivery request including the application key;
• comparing the application key received with the content delivery request with a reference application assigned to the application program;
• and
• in response to the application key matching the reference key and a determination that the mobile device has entered the geographic area of interest, causing at least a portion of said content requested in the content delivery request to be transmitted for reception by the mobile device.
