An object of the present disclosure is to provide a novel golf ball cover material from which a golf ball showing a high spin rate on short iron shots and a low spin rate on driver shots is obtained. The present disclosure provides a golf ball cover material having a loss elastic modulus (E″−40) in a range from 6.50×107 Pa to 22.0×107 Pa at a measuring temperature of −40° C., and a loss elastic modulus (E″−20) in a range from 3.50×107 Pa to 7.10×107 Pa at a measuring temperature of −20° C., when measured using a dynamic viscoelasticity measuring apparatus under following measuring conditions: <Measuring conditions> Measuring mode: tensile mode Measuring temperature: −100° C. to 100° C. Temperature rising rate: 4° C./minute Oscillation frequency: 10 Hz Measuring strain: 0.05%.
