The hot beverage maker also includes a descaling tank to store a descaling solution, a descaling regulator valve to selectively provide a volume of the descaling solution to the hot water tank, and a user input interface. The hot beverage maker is arranged to execute a cleaning operation responsive to a user input provided via the user input interface. The descaling regulator valve provides the volume of descaling solution to the hot water tank when the cleaning operation is executed.
