Abstract
A system that incorporates the subject disclosure may perform, for example, a method for receiving interference information, identifying a plurality of interferers, approximating a location of the plurality of interferers, and adjusting an antenna pattern of an antenna. The method can include determining traffic loads and adjusting the antenna pattern according to the traffic loads. Other embodiments are disclosed.
Claims20
A method, comprising:
- receiving, at a base station including a processing system having a processor, a plurality of radio signals from a plurality of mobile communication devices, wherein the plurality of radio signals includes a plurality of different frequencies of different communication channels;
- determining, by the processing system, interference information of an interfering device, wherein the interference information identifies a temporal recurrence of interference by the interfering device;
- reporting, by the processing system, the interference information to a diagnostic system;
- and
- receiving, from the diagnostic system, by the processing system, instructions to mitigate interference by the interfering device.
A non-transitory, machine-readable storage medium, comprising executable instructions that, when executed by a processing system of a base station including a processor, facilitate performance of operations, the operations comprising:
- receiving a plurality of radio signals from a plurality of mobile communication devices, wherein the plurality of radio signals includes a plurality of different frequencies of different communication channels;
- determining interference information of an interfering device, wherein the interference information identifies a temporal recurrence of interference by the interfering device, wherein the temporal recurrence of interference is associated with an interference signal;
- reporting the interference information to a diagnostic system;
- and
- receiving, from the diagnostic system, instructions to mitigate interference by the interfering device.
A base station, comprising:
- a processing system including a processor;
- and
- a memory that stores executable instructions that, when executed by the processing system, facilitate performance of operations, the operations comprising:
- receiving a plurality of radio signals from a plurality of mobile communication devices, wherein the plurality of radio signals includes a plurality of different frequencies of different communication channels;
- determining interference information of an interfering device, wherein the interference information identifies a temporal recurrence of interference by the interfering device;
- reporting the interference information to a diagnostic system;
- and
- receiving, from the diagnostic system, instructions to filter interference by the interfering device.
