Abstract
Display units for prioritizing requested operational updates are disclosed. A control subsystem is in electronic communication with an electronic display, sensor(s), and a thermal management subsystem. The control subsystem operates the display unit based on operational parameters which are specific to readings from the one or more sensors. Requests to update operational parameters for the display unit are received at the control subsystem and are prioritized for implementation.
Claims19
A display unit for prioritizing requested operational updates, said display unit comprising:
- an electronic display;
- a thermal management subsystem;
- one or more sensors;
- and
- a control subsystem in electronic communication with the electronic display, the one or more sensors, and the thermal management subsystem, where the control subsystem comprises one or more non-transitory electronic storage devices with software instructions, which when executed, configure one or more processors to:
- operate the display unit based on operational parameters which are specific to readings from the one or more sensors;
- receive requests to update the operational parameters for the display unit;
- and
- prioritize the requests for implementation.
A display unit for prioritizing and implementing requested operational updates, said display unit comprising:
- an electronic display;
- a thermal management subsystem;
- sensors, at least one of which is associated with the electronic display and a least one other of which is associated with the thermal management subsystem;
- and
- a control subsystem in electronic communication with the electronic display, the sensors, and the thermal management subsystem, where the control subsystem comprises one or more non-transitory electronic storage devices with software instructions, which when executed, configure one or more processors to:
- operate the display unit based on operational parameters and readings received from the sensors, wherein each of the operational parameters are specific to the readings from at least one of the sensors;
- receive requests to update the operational parameters;
- prioritize the requests for execution based on absolute change in value to the one or ones of the operational parameters updated by the request, if implemented;
- and
- implement the requests in accordance with the prioritization.
A display unit for prioritizing and implementing requested operational updates, said display unit comprising:
- an electronic display having a backlight;
- a thermal management subsystem comprising an airflow pathway and at least one fan;
- an ambient light sensor;
- a temperature sensor located along the airflow pathway;
- and
- a control subsystem in electronic communication with the electronic display, the ambient light sensor, the temperature sensor, and the fan, where the control subsystem comprises one or more non-transitory electronic storage devices with software instructions, which when executed, configure one or more processors to:
- receive readings from the ambient light sensor;
- receive readings from the temperature sensor;
- operate the display unit based on operational parameters and the readings from the ambient light sensor and the readings from the temperature sensor, wherein the operational parameters comprise ambient light level specific illumination setpoints for the backlight of the electronic display and temperature specific fan speed setpoints for the thermal management subsystem;
- receive requests to update the operational parameters;
- prioritize the requests for execution based on absolute change in value to the operational parameter(s) updated by the request, if implemented;
- and
- implement the requests in accordance with the prioritization.
