Abstract
A tungsten wire includes: a metal wire that contains tungsten as a major component; and an oxide film that covers a surface of the metal wire. An average thickness of the oxide film is at least 4 nm and at most 13 nm. A tensile strength of the tungsten wire is at least 3500 MPa.

A tungsten wire comprising:
- a metal wire containing tungsten as a major component;
- and
- an oxide film that covers a surface of the metal wire, wherein
- an average thickness of the oxide film is at least 4 nm and at most 13 nm, and
- a tensile strength of the tungsten wire is at least 3500 MPa.
