Abstract

Provided are a hybrid metallocene catalyst comprising a first transition metal compound represented by Formula 1; and a second transition metal compound represented by Formula 2, which is useful in the preparation of a polyethylene exhibiting a high dart drop impact strength property along with excellent processability, and a method of preparing the polyethylene using the same: wherein Formulas 1 and 2 are described herein.

Dependent claims

A hybrid metallocene catalyst comprising

a first transition metal compound represented by Formula 1;
and
a second transition metal compound represented by Formula 2:
in Formula 1,
M1 is a Group 4 transition metal,
A1 is C, Si, or Ge,
R11 and R11′ are each independently C6-20 aryl, C7-20 alkylaryl, C7-20 arylalkyl, or C7-20 alkoxyaryl,
R12, R13, R14, R12′, R13′, and R14′ are each independently hydrogen, halogen, C1-20 alkyl, C1-20 alkenyl, C1-20 alkoxy, C6-20 aryl, C7-20 alkylaryl, or C7-20 arylalkyl,
one of R15 and R16 is C2-20 alkoxyalkyl, and the other is C1-20 alkyl, and
X11 and X12 are each independently halogen or C1-20 alkyl,
in Formula 2,
M2 is a Group 4 transition metal,
A2 is C, Si, or Ge,
R21 to R24 are each independently C1-20 alkyl,
R25 is C1-20 alkyl,
R26 is C6-20 aryl unsubstituted or substituted with C1-20 alkyl,
R27 to R29 are each independently hydrogen, C1-20 alkyl, C2-20 alkenyl, C6-20 aryl, C7-20 alkylaryl, or C7-20 arylalkyl, or two adjacent groups of R27 to R29 are linked to each other to form a C4-8 aliphatic ring,
R31 and R32 are each independently C1-20 alkyl, and
X21 and X22 are each independently halogen or C1-20 alkyl.
