Abstract
A filter screen for cross-flow filtration includes a cross-sectional thickness measured from an outer surface to an inner surface, the outer surface configured to exclude particles; and a plurality of slots that are evenly spaced apart. Each of the slots have a length along a longest axis at the outer surface; a width measured from a perpendicular axis relative to the length at the outer surface that is less than the length; and a depth along the cross-sectional thickness that is tapered.
Claims20
A filter screen for cross-flow filtration, comprising:
- a cross-sectional thickness measured from an outer surface to an inner surface, the outer surface configured to exclude particles;
- and
- a plurality of slots that are evenly spaced apart, each of the slots having:
- a length along a longest axis at the outer surface;
- a width measured from a perpendicular axis relative to the length at the outer surface that is less than the length;
- and
- a depth along the cross-sectional thickness that is tapered.
A filter screen for cross-flow filtration having a plurality of slots, each slot having a longest principal axis A1 that has a length L, and each slot having a second axis A2 that is perpendicular to A1 and that has a length W, wherein the slots are arranged so that
- all the axes A1 are parallel to each other;
- the slots are disposed in a plurality of rows;
- wherein the distance between center points of adjacent slots in the direction of the axes A2 is XP;
- wherein XP is greater than W;
- the slots are disposed in a plurality of columns;
- wherein the distance between nearest circumference points of adjacent slots in the direction of the axes A1 is YP;
- wherein L is greater than W;
- and
- wherein XP is 350 micrometers or less,
- wherein the filter screen has a slot depth D measured from a front surface to a back surface of the slots, wherein the W is larger at the back surface relative to the front surface at each of the slots.
A filter screen for cross-flow filtration having a plurality of slots, each slot having a longest principal axis A1 that has a length L, and each slot having a second axis A2 that is perpendicular to A1 and that has a length W, wherein the slots are arranged so that
- all the axes A1 are parallel to each other;
- the slots are disposed in a plurality of rows;
- wherein the distance between center points of adjacent slots in the direction of the axes A2 is XP;
- wherein XP is greater than W;
- the slots are disposed in a plurality of columns;
- wherein the distance between nearest circumference points of adjacent slots in the direction of the axes A1 is YP;
- wherein L is greater than W;
- and
- wherein XP is 350 micrometers or less.
