Abstract
A system may include an expandable member, and a plurality of sensors disposed on an outer surface of the expandable member and circumferentially spaced apart from one another, wherein each of the plurality of sensors includes a first emitter configured to emit light of a first wavelength, and a detector configured to detect light, and a controller coupled to the plurality of sensors.
Claims20
A computer-implemented method for determining blood flow surrounding a body lumen of a patient, the method comprising:
- receiving, from each respective sensor of a plurality of sensors positioned circumferentially around a device inserted into the body lumen, along a first vector, an intensity of light, reflected off of body tissue in the body lumen, at a first wavelength and originating from the respective sensor;
- receiving, from each respective sensor, along a second vector, an intensity of light, reflected off of body tissue in the body lumen, at the first wavelength and originating from a circumferentially adjacent sensor to the respective sensor;
- determining separate perfusion indexes corresponding to the intensity of each first vector and each second vector;
- and
- initiating display of the separate perfusion indexes corresponding to the intensity of each first vector and each second vector.
A computer-implemented method for determining blood flow surrounding a body lumen of a patient, the method comprising:
- receiving, from each respective sensor of a plurality of sensors positioned circumferentially around a device inserted into the body lumen, a plurality of light intensity measurements along a plurality of vectors, wherein a first portion of the plurality of vectors comprises light, reflected off of body tissue in the body lumen, that was emitted at one or more wavelengths from the respective sensor, and a second portion of the plurality of vectors comprises light reflected off of body tissue in the body lumen that was emitted at the one or more wavelengths from an adjacent sensor to the respective sensor;
- determining a plurality of perfusion indexes corresponding to the plurality of vectors based on the plurality of light intensity measurements;
- and
- generating, for display, a perfusion index map based on the plurality of perfusion indexes to visually represent the blood flow surrounding the body lumen.
A computer-implemented method for determining blood flow surrounding a body lumen, the method comprising:
- receiving, from a detector at each sensor of a plurality of sensors positioned circumferentially around a device inserted into the body lumen, a first intensity of light, reflected off of body tissue in the body lumen, originating from an emitter of a same sensor as the detector;
- receiving, from the detector at each sensor, a second intensity of light, reflected off of body tissue, originating from an emitter of a different sensor than the detector that is circumferentially adjacent to the detector;
- determining separate perfusion indexes based on each first intensity and each second intensity;
- and
- generating, for display, a visualization of the separate perfusion indexes indicative of the blood flow surrounding the body lumen.
