Shelf and shelf assembly

A shelf comprising:

• a base member forming a support platform to receive at least one object;
• and
• at least one hanging member supported by the base member and extending upwardly therefrom, the at least one hanging member for use in connecting the shelf to a closet shelf with the base member positioned beneath the closet shelf and spaced apart therefrom;
• wherein the base member has a first width that is less than a second width of the closet shelf such that the base member is sized to be offset from a front edge of the closet shelf and positioned between a closet rod and an adjacent wall.

A shelf assembly comprising:

• a base member comprising a support platform to receive at least one object, a front flange extending upwardly from a front edge region of the support platform, and a rear flange extending upwardly from a rear edge region of the support platform, wherein the front flange and the support platform define an obtuse angle therebetween, and wherein the rear flange and the support platform are substantially perpendicular to one another;
• a first hanging member extending upwardly from a first end region of the base member;
• and
• a second hanging member extending upwardly from a second end region of the base member opposite to the first end region;
• wherein the first and second hanging members are adapted to connect the base member to a closet shelf with the base member positioned beneath the closet shelf and spaced apart therefrom;
• and
• wherein the base member is sized to be offset from a front edge of the closet shelf and positioned between a closet rod and an adjacent wall.
