Sending location information from within a communication application

A wireless communications device for transmitting current location information representing a current location of the wireless communications device, the wireless device comprising:

• at least one processor;
• one or more non-transitory computer-readable storage media coupled to the at least one processor and storing programming instructions for execution by the at least one processor, wherein the programming instructions, when executed, cause the wireless communication device to perform operations comprising:
• display a message interface for a communication application executing on the wireless communications device;
• in response to receiving input via a user interface of the wireless communications device, display the message interface which includes the current location information in a message generated using the message interface;
• and
• transmit the message that includes the current location information.

A method in a wireless communications device for transmitting current location information representing a current location of the wireless communications device, the method comprising:

• launching a message interface for a communication application executing on the wireless communications device;
• while the message interface is being displayed, including the current location information in a communication generated using the message interface;
• and
• transmitting the communication that includes the current location information.
