Abstract
An NDT (non-destructive testing) data collection system has: an electronic pen; a position sensor configured to detect a three-dimensional position in space of a tip of the electronic pen; and a processor configured to receive signals from the position sensor and to output, in use, map data of an area of a substrate traced by the electronic pen. A method includes moving an electronic pen one or both over or around an area of interest on a substrate, in which the area of interest comprises an anomaly; and recording, to a computer readable medium, map data of the area of interest calculated by a processor using signals from a position sensor in the electronic pen.
Claims20
An NDT (non-destructive testing) data collection system comprising:
- an electronic pen;
- a position sensor configured to detect a three-dimensional position in space of a tip of the electronic pen;
- and
- a processor configured to receive signals from the position sensor and to output, in use, map data of an area of a substrate traced by the electronic pen.
A method comprising:
- moving an electronic pen one or both over or around an area of interest on a substrate, in which the area of interest comprises an anomaly;
- and
- recording, to a computer readable medium, map data of the area of interest calculated by a processor using signals from a position sensor in the electronic pen.
