A method and system for determining a model of a cardiac implant

A system for determining a model of a cardiac implant deployable in a cardiac region, the system including:

• a database comprising a plurality of different records, each record including data representative of an image of a cardiac region and an associated model of the cardiac implant deployed in said cardiac region;
• and
• a processing unit configured to:
• receive a patient-specific image of the cardiac region for which the model of the cardiac implant deployed in said cardiac region is to be determined;
• calculate an approximation of the patient-specific image of the cardiac region based on a weighted combination of images of the cardiac region in a plurality of records, wherein the approximation is performed by means of an approximation function which is configured to approximate the patient-specific image of the cardiac region based on the weighted sum of data indicative of images of the cardiac region in a plurality of records;
• and
• determine the model of the cardiac implant deployable in the cardiac region associated to the patient-specific image of said cardiac region based on parameters of the approximation function.

A computer implemented method for determining a model of a cardiac region, the method including:

• providing a database including a plurality of different records, each record including at least data representative of an image of a cardiac region and an associated model of said cardiac region;
• receiving a patient-specific image of the cardiac region for which the model of the cardiac region is to be determined;
• calculating an approximation of the patient-specific image of the cardiac region based on a weighted combination of images of the cardiac region in a plurality of records;
• and
• determining the model of the cardiac region associated to the patient-specific image of the cardiac region based on weighted combination of models associated to the images of the cardiac region in the plurality of records used for approximating said patient-specific image of the cardiac region.
