Synchronizing video workout programs across multiple devices

A system, comprising:

• two or more exercise machines;
• a server;
• and
• processing circuitry configured to cause the system to:
• establish a local connection between the two or more exercise machines;
• capture a stream of performance metrics at the two or more exercise machines;
• store the performance metrics in a local database, wherein two or more copies of the local database are stored on respective ones of the two or more exercise machines;
• synchronize the two or more copies of the local database using the local connection;
• query a network connection between the two or more exercise machines and the server;
• and
• synchronize the local database with a server database based at least in part on the network connection between the two or more exercise machines and the server.

A non-transitory computer-readable medium storing code comprising instructions which, when executed by processing circuitry of an electronic device, cause the electronic device to:

• establish a local connection between two or more exercise machines;
• capture a stream of performance metrics at the two or more exercise machines;
• store the performance metrics in a local database, wherein two or more copies of the local database are stored on respective ones of the two or more exercise machines;
• synchronize the two or more copies of the local database using the local connection;
• query a network connection between the two or more exercise machines and a server;
• and
• synchronize the local database with a server database based at least in part on the network connection between the two or more exercise machines and the server.
