Abstract
A technique useful in the field of agri-horticulture such as a technique for preventing pest damage to plants is provided. Pest damage to plants is prevented by using various glutamic acid derivatives.
Claims11
A method for inducing pest damage resistance in a plant, comprising applying to the plant a compound represented by general formula (I):
- wherein:
- n represents an integer of 1, 2, or 3,
- X represents an interatomic bond, oxygen atom (O), nitrogen atom bonded with hydrogen atom (NH), nitrogen atom bonded with methyl group (NMe), sulfur atom(S), or 4-phenoxy group,
- R1 represents hydrogen atom (H), amidino group, or an acyl group,
- R2 represents OR4 or NHR4,
- R3 represents C(═O)—R5, sulfo group (SO3H), phosphate group (PO3H2), or SO2R6,
- R4 represents hydrogen atom (H), or an optionally substituted alkyl group having 1 to 8 carbon atoms,
- R5 represents an optionally substituted alkyl group having 1 to 8 carbon atoms, an amino acid, a dipeptide, OR7, or NR8R9,
- R6 represents methyl group, or an optionally substituted phenyl group,
- R7 represents hydrogen atom (H), or an alkyl group having 1 to 8 carbon atoms, and group having 1 to 8 carbon atoms, or an optionally substituted phenyl group.
A method for preventing pest damage to a plant comprising applying to the plant a compound represented by general formula (I):

- R1 represents hydrogen atom (H), amidino group, or an acyl group,
- R2 represents OR4 or NHR4,
- R3 represents C (—O)-R5, sulfo group (SO3H), phosphate group (PO3H2), or SO2R6,
- R4 represents hydrogen atom (H), or an optionally substituted alkyl group having 1 to 8 carbon atoms,
- R5 represents an optionally substituted alkyl group having 1 to 8 carbon atoms, an amino acid, a dipeptide, OR7, or NR8R′,
- R6 represents methyl group, or an optionally substituted phenyl group,
- R7 represents hydrogen atom (H), or an alkyl group having 1 to 8 carbon atoms, and group having 1 to 8 carbon atoms, or an optionally substituted phenyl group.
A method for producing a plant body comprising cultivating a plant by applying to the plant a compound represented by the following general formula (I):
