Abstract
The present invention is directed to a two component (2K) composition comprising, as a first component, a silicone-based resin comprising epoxy functionalities, optionally an epoxy resin and optionally a silicone acrylate oligomer and, as a second component, a curative comprising at least one alkoxy-containing aminofunctional silicone resin and an aminoalkoxysilane: the reaction of the two components of said composition provides a cured product exhibiting create workability while maintaining mechanical properties, when cured.
Claims17
A two component (2K) composition comprising:
- (A) a first component comprising:
- a) at least one silicone-based resin comprising epoxy functionalities;
- and
- b) optionally at least one epoxy resin, which is not a silicone-based resin;
- c) optionally at least one silicone acrylate oligomer;
- (B) a second component comprising:
- d) a curative which consists of at least one compound possessing at least two epoxide reactive groups per molecule, said curative being characterized by comprising at least one alkoxy-containing aminofunctional silicone resin;
- e) at least one aminoalkoxysilane;
- wherein said composition is free of catalysts and optionally a molar ratio of reactive groups provided in component B to reactive groups in component A is from 1.5:1 to 1:1.5.
