An axle assembly comprising:
- a shaft that is rotatable about an axis;
- a clutch collar that is disposed on the shaft and moveable along the axis with respect to the shaft;
- a piston that encircles the clutch collar;
- and
- a bearing assembly that extends between the piston and the clutch collar and that facilitates rotation of the clutch collar with respect to the piston.
