Abstract
A cutting apparatus for cutting foods with shells having a bottom handle, a top handle, and a cutting blade are disclosed. The cutting blade includes two holes connected by a slot that is configured to receive a pin that locks the position of the cutting blade relative to the handles. In a open configuration the pin can be pressed into one of the holes locking the cutting blade in a open position. In a closed configuration the pin can be pressed into the other hole which locks the cutting blade into a closed position. The pin can also be disengaged from either hole to occupy the slot such that the handles can moved relative to one another such that a cutting action may be made.
Claims1

- a cutting blade pivotally attached to said top handle or said bottom handle having a first large diameter hole, a second large diameter hole, and a slot of smaller diameter connecting said first large diameter hole and said second large diameter hole;
- wherein a open configuration said pin is pressed in occupies said first large diameter hole and said cutout which locks said cutting blade in a open position;
- wherein a cutting configuration said pin occupies said slot allowing movement of said top handle and said bottom handle relative to one another;
- and
- wherein a closed configuration said pin is pressed in occupies said second large diameter hole and said cutout locking said cutting blade in a closed position.
