Abstract
Display assemblies and related systems and methods providing field leak testing are disclosed. An electronic display assembly includes an electronic display, a differential pressure sensor fluidly connected to an ambient environment and an internal area, and fan(s) located within, or fluidly connected with, the internal area. Differential pressure readings are taken before and while and/or after to command a speed of the fan(s) to be temporarily increased. Where an insufficient change is provided, indication of a probable leak is provided.
Claims19
An electronic display assembly with field leak testing, said electronic display assembly comprising:
- an electronic display;
- an internal area partitioned from an ambient environment;
- a differential pressure sensor in fluid connection with the ambient environment and the internal area;
- one or more fans located within, or fluidly connected with, the internal area which, when operated, move gas within at least the internal area;
- and
- a controller comprising one or more non-transitory electronic storage devices comprising software instructions, which when executed, configure one or more processors of the controller to:
- take at least one differential pressure reading from the differential pressure sensor;
- command a speed of the one or more fans to be temporarily increased;
- and
- take at least one additional differential pressure reading from the differential pressure sensor with and/or following the command to temporarily increase the speed of the one or more fans.
A method for field testing an electronic display assembly for leaks, the method comprising:
- taking, by way of a controller of the electronic display assembly, at least one differential pressure reading from a differential pressure sensor in fluid connection with an ambient environment and an internal area of the electronic display assembly;
- commanding by way of the controller, a speed of one or more fans to be temporarily increased, where said one or more fans are located within, or fluidly connected with, the internal area and, when operated, move gas within at least the internal area;
- and
- taking, by way of the controller, at least one additional differential pressure reading from the differential pressure sensor with and/or following the command to temporarily increase the speed of the one or more fans.
An electronic display assembly with field leak testing, said electronic display assembly comprising:
- an electronic display;
- a closed airflow pathway partitioned from an ambient environment;
- a differential pressure sensor in fluid connection with the ambient environment and the closed airflow pathway;
- one or more fans located within, or fluidly connected with, the internal area which, when operated, move gas within at least the closed airflow pathway;
- and
- a controller comprising one or more non-transitory electronic storage devices comprising software instructions, which when executed, configure one or more processors of the controller to:
- perform a field leak test including:
- taking at least one differential pressure reading from the differential pressure sensor;
- commanding a speed of the one or more fans to be temporarily increased;
- and
- taking at least one additional differential pressure reading from the differential pressure sensor with and/or following the command to temporarily increase the speed of the one or more fans;
- and
- determine if said at least one additional differential pressure reading changes from the at least one differential pressure reading by at least a predetermined amount, and if not, indicate that a leak is likely present.
