Abstract
The present invention relates generally to systems and methods for measuring an analyte in a host. More particularly, the present invention relates to systems and methods for transcutaneous measurement of glucose in a host.
Claims7
A sensor system for measuring an analyte in a host, the system comprising:
- a sensor configured to measure an analyte concentration in a host;
- sensor electronics operably connected to the sensor, wherein the sensor electronics are configured to produce a signal associated with the analyte concentration in the host;
- and
- a receiver configured to receive transmissions from the sensor electronics and to display sensor data for at least one sensor system, wherein the receiver is programmed to confirm disconnection of the sensor prior to initialization of another sensor system.

A sensor system for measuring an analyte in a host, the system comprising:
- a sensor configured to measure an analyte concentration in a host;
- sensor electronics operably connected to the sensor, wherein the sensor electronics are configured to produce a signal associated with the analyte concentration in the host;
- and
- a receiver configured to receive transmissions from the sensor electronics and to display sensor data for at least one sensor system, wherein the sensor electronics is programmed to transmit information indicative of sensor insertion, and wherein the receiver is programmed to confirm sensor insertion prior to initialization of a sensor system.
