Abstract
A method for treating magnetic material is provided. The method includes providing hard magnetic particles; increasing the magnetic coercivity of the hard magnetic particles by polishing the hard magnetic particles; and forming a permanent magnet, the permanent magnet including the polished hard magnetic particles.

A method for treating magnetic material, the method comprising:
- providing hard magnetic particles;
- increasing the magnetic coercivity of the hard magnetic particles by polishing the hard magnetic particles;
- and
- forming a permanent magnet, the permanent magnet comprising the polished hard magnetic particles.

- polished hard magnetic particles, wherein a plurality of the polished hard magnetic particles comprise a rounded surface along a perimeter of a cross-section of the polished hard magnetic particles.
An electric motor, the electric motor comprising:
- a rotor;
- a stator;

- a permanent magnet comprising polished hard magnetic particles, wherein a plurality of the polished hard magnetic particles comprise a rounded surface along a perimeter of a cross-section of the polished hard magnetic particles.
