This planar heat-generating knitted fabric 10 comprises a knitted fabric including conductive yarns 400 as a heat-generating portion, wherein the conductive yarn 400 has a core yarn 410, and a conductive sheath yarn 420 wrapped around the core yarn 410, the conductive sheath yarn 420 is a metal wire covered with an insulating resin 422, the knitted fabric is knitted in the form of a multilayer knitted fabric including a front structure 201 and a back structure 202 including insulating yarns 300 as a base, the front and back structures 201 and 202 being linked together by linking yarns 100, the conductive yarns 400 are knitted in at least one of the front and back structures 201 and 202, and the ratio (D1/D2) of a diameter (D1) of the conductive yarn 400 and a diameter (D2) of the insulating yarn is 0.81 to 4.0.
