Abstract
Proposed is a method for effectively supporting quality of service (QOS) of artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) services. An application function (AF) transmits information about an uplink (UL)/downlink (DL) notification request to a session management function (SMF). The SMF generates a QoS profile on the basis of a policy and charging control (PCC) rule including information about the UL/DL notification request, and transmits the QoS profile to a next generation (NG)-radio access network (RAN). The NG-RAN transmits, to the SMF, a notification message including response information with respect to the UL/DL notification request, on the basis of the occurrence of an event related to the UL/DL notification request.
Claims17
A method performed by a Next Generation (NG)-Radio Access Network (RAN) adapted to operate in a wireless communication system, the method comprising:
- receiving, from a Session Management Function (SMF), a Quality of Service (QOS) profile generated based on a Policy and Charging Control (PCC) rule including information for an Uplink (UL)/Downlink (DL) notification request;
- and
- based on an event occurring with respect to the UL/DL notification request, transmitting, to the SMF, a notification message including response information to the UL/DL notification request.

A Next Generation (NG)-Radio Access Network (RAN) adapted to operate in a wireless communication system, the NG-RAN comprising:
- at least one transceiver;
- at least one processor;
- and
- at least one memory operably connectable to the at least one processor and storing instructions that, based on being executed by the at least one processor, perform operations comprising:
- receiving, from a Session Management Function (SMF), a Quality of Service (QOS) profile generated based on a Policy and Charging Control (PCC) rule including information for an Uplink (UL)/Downlink (DL) notification request;
- and
- based on an event occurring with respect to the UL/DL notification request, transmitting, to the SMF, a notification message including response information to the UL/DL notification request.
A method performed by an Application Function (AF) adapted to operate in a wireless communication system, the method comprising:
- transmitting information for an Uplink (UL)/Downlink (DL) notification request to a Session Management Function (SMF) via a Policy and Charging Function (PCF);
- receiving response information to the UL/DL notification request from the SMF via the PCF;
- and
- performing an operation related to Artificial Intelligence (AI)/Machine Learning (ML) based on the response information.
