## Abstract

A method for wireless communication at a wireless node includes obtaining downlink transmissions. The method also includes generating an original acknowledgement (ACK) codebook based on whether each of the downlink transmissions is successfully decoded. The method further includes modifying the original ACK codebook by transforming a number of bits of the original ACK codebook. The method still further includes generating an ACK payload comprising the modified original ACK codebook and information related to a quantity of one or more positive acknowledgements for the downlink transmissions. The method also includes outputting, for transmission, the ACK payload.

### Claim 8 (depends on 1)

The apparatus of claim 1, in which the at least one processor is further configured to execute the instructions to cause the apparatus to generate a codepoint comprising one or more bits that jointly indicate the modified original ACK codebook and the information related to the quantity of positive acknowledgements.

### Claim 9 (depends on 1)

The apparatus of claim 1, in which the at least one processor is further configured to execute the instructions to cause the apparatus to form a first ACK part and a second ACK part, a size of the second ACK part being a function of the first ACK part, the second ACK part comprising the information related to the quantity of positive acknowledgements in response to the first ACK part indicating all positive acknowledgements.

### Claim 10 (depends on 1)

The apparatus of claim 1, in which the at least one processor is further configured to execute the instructions to cause the apparatus to form a first ACK part and a second ACK part, a size of the second ACK part being a function of the first ACK part, the first ACK part comprising the information related to the quantity of positive acknowledgements in response to the first ACK part indicating all positive acknowledgements.

### Claim 11 (depends on 1)

### Claim 12 (depends on 1)

The apparatus of claim 1, in which the at least one processor is further configured to execute the instructions to cause the apparatus to generate a bundled ACK bit comprising a logical AND operation on the plurality of bits of the original ACK codebook; and the information related to the quantity of positive acknowledgements is in response to the bundled ACK bit indicating all positive acknowledgements, or in response to the bundled ACK bit indicating at least one negative acknowledgement (NACK).

### Claim 13 (depends on 1)

The apparatus of claim 1, in which the at least one processor is further configured to execute the instructions to cause the apparatus to generate a bundled ACK bit comprising a logical AND operation on the plurality of bits of the original ACK codebook; and the information related to the quantity of positive acknowledgements is in response to the bundled ACK bit indicating all positive acknowledgements, the information related to the quantity of positive acknowledgements being output for transmission in a second part, in response to a first part indicating the bundled ACK bit corresponds to the all positive acknowledgements.
