Abstract
The present disclosure provides devices for preventing or absorbing fluid (e.g., sweat) and/or odors from the intergluteal cleft of a subject. In some embodiments, the present disclosure provides devices for treating or preventing hemorrhoids and methods of using same.
Claims14
A device for absorbing fluid proximal to the anus of a subject, the device comprising:
- a non-planar portion comprising a plurality of layers of absorbent material and configured to be placed at least partially into an intergluteal cleft proximal to the anus of the subject;
- and
- a generally planar portion surrounding the non-planar portion, the generally planar portion comprising a plurality of layers of absorbent material,
- wherein the non-planar portion and the generally planar portion have a uniform thickness.
A method of absorbing fluid proximal to the anus of a subject, the method comprising:
- inserting a device in an intergluteal cleft of a subject, the device comprising:
- a non-planar portion comprising a plurality of layers of absorbent material and configured to be placed at least partially into an intergluteal cleft proximal to the anus of the subject;
- and
- a generally planar portion surrounding the non-planar portion, the generally planar portion comprising a plurality of layers of absorbent material,
- wherein the non-planar portion and the generally planar portion have a uniform thickness.
A device for absorbing fluid proximal to the anus of a subject, the device comprising:
- a plurality of layers of absorbent material including:
- a uniform thickness,
- a non-planar portion configured to be placed at least partially into an intergluteal cleft proximal to the anus of the subject,
- a generally planar portion surrounding the non-planar portion,
- a crease, and
- a compression seal configured to secure the plurality of layers of absorbent material;
- a hydrophobic coating on at least a portion of an outer surface;
- and
- a texture configured to increase adherence of the device to skin of the subject.
