Abstract
A decolorizing apparatus includes a translucent heater, a casing, and a controller. The translucent heater is configured to generate heat according to an applied voltage. The casing is configured to support the translucent heater. The controller is configured to apply a voltage to the translucent heater. The voltage is associated with a temperature at which a thermochromic colorant.

A decolorizing apparatus comprising:
- a support;
- a heater rotatably coupled to the support, the heater comprising:
- a substrate,
- a film formed on the substrate, and
- a first electrode electrically coupled to the film, and
- a second electrode electrically coupled to the film;
- a controller configured to provide a voltage to the film so as to induce a current flow between the first electrode and the second electrode.
A method for using a decolorizing apparatus that includes a support and a heater, the heater having a substrate, the film formed on the substrate, a first electrode electrically coupled to the film, and a second electrode electrically coupled to the film, the method comprising:
- setting, by a controller, a first temperature for heating the film of the heater;
- applying, by the controller, a first voltage to the film for heating the film, which induces a current flow between the first electrode and the second electrode;
- setting, by a controller, a second temperature for heating the film of the heater;
- and
- applying, by the controller, a second voltage to the film for heating the film, wherein the second voltage is greater than the first voltage.
