## Abstract

A method for operating a system includes controlling an operational readiness of a hand-held power tool or an operation of the hand-held power tool by open-loop or closed-loop control, in dependence on an exchange of electronic data between a removable dust collection device operably connected to the hand-held power tool and the hand-held power tool. The system includes the hand-held power tool including an exhaust nozzle and at least one communication unit; and the removable dust collection device. The removable dust collection device includes a basic structure including at least one frame configured to receive a variable-shape collection bag, and at least one connection nozzle extending from the at least one frame and configured to connect to the exhaust nozzle.

## Claims

### Claim 1

A method for operating a system, comprising:
controlling an operational readiness of a hand-held power tool or an operation of the hand-held power tool by open-loop or closed-loop control, in dependence on an exchange of electronic data between (i) a removable dust collection device operably connected to the hand-held power tool, and (ii) the hand-held power tool,
wherein the system includes:
the hand-held power tool including an exhaust nozzle and at least one communication unit; and
the removable dust collection device including:
a basic structure including at least one frame configured to receive a variable-shape collection bag, and at least one connection nozzle extending from the at least one frame and configured to connect to the exhaust nozzle, such that (i) the basic structure and the variable-shape collection bag are arranged in a removable manner on the hand-held power tool, and (ii) the basic structure and the variable-shape collection bag are carried by the hand-held power tool and are moved together with the hand-held power tool; and
at least one further communication unit,
wherein at least one communication unit of the hand-held power tool is configured to exchange the electronic data with the at least one further communication unit of the removable dust collection device, and
wherein controlling the operational readiness of the hand-held power tool or the operation of the hand-held power tool includes preventing operation of an electric motor unit the hand-held power tool based on the electronic data.

### Claim 2 (depends on 1)

The method as claimed in claim 1, further comprising:
comparing at least one movement characteristic of the hand-held power tool with at least one movement characteristic of the removable dust collection device to enable the operational readiness of the hand-held power tool or to control the operation of the hand-held power tool by open-loop or closed-loop control.

### Claim 3 (depends on 2)

The method as claimed in claim 2, wherein:
the at least one movement characteristic of the hand-held power tool is a vibration, and
the at least one movement characteristic of the removable dust collection device is another vibration.

### Claim 4 (depends on 3)

The method as claimed in claim 3, wherein when the vibration of the hand-held power tool corresponds to the other vibration of the removable dust collection device, operation of the hand-held power tool is continued.

### Claim 5 (depends on 4)

The method as claimed in claim 4, wherein when the vibration of the hand-held power tool is different from the other vibration of the removable dust collection device, operation of the hand-held power tool is interrupted.

### Claim 6 (depends on 1)

The method as claimed in claim 1, further comprising:
evaluating at least one filter characteristic of a filter unit of the removable dust collection device to enable the operational readiness of the hand-held power tool or to control the operation of the hand-held power tool by open-loop or closed-loop control.

### Claim 7 (depends on 6)

The method as claimed in claim 6, wherein the at least one filter characteristic includes an air stream through the filter unit.

### Claim 8 (depends on 1)

The method as claimed in claim 1, further comprising:
evaluating a time characteristic to enable the operational readiness of the hand-held power tool or to control the operation of the hand-held power tool by open-loop or closed-loop control.

### Claim 9

A method for operating a system, comprising:
controlling an operational readiness of a hand-held power tool or an operation of the hand-held power tool by open-loop or closed-loop control, in dependence on an exchange of electronic data between (i) a removable dust collection device operably connected to the hand-held power tool, and (ii) the hand-held power tool,
wherein the system includes:
the hand-held power tool including an exhaust nozzle and at least one communication unit; and
the removable dust collection device including:
a basic structure including at least one frame configured to receive a variable-shape collection bag, and at least one connection nozzle extending from the at least one frame and configured to connect to the exhaust nozzle, such that (i) the basic structure and the variable-shape collection bag are arranged in a removable manner on the hand-held power tool, and (ii) the basic structure and the variable-shape collection bag are carried by the hand-held power tool and are moved together with the hand-held power tool; and
at least one further communication unit,
wherein at least one communication unit of the hand-held power tool is configured to exchange the electronic data with the at least one further communication unit of the removable dust collection device, and
wherein controlling the operational readiness of a hand-held power tool or the operation of the hand-held power tool includes:
identifying a start-up of the hand-held power tool by sensing vibrations of the hand-held power tool;
evaluating the sensed vibrations by comparing whether the removable dust collection device vibrates in a corresponding manner to the hand-held power tool;
determining that the removable dust collection device is arranged on the hand-held power tool when the evaluation indicates that the removable dust collection device vibrates in the corresponding manner to the hand-held power tool;
determining that the removable dust collection device is decoupled from the hand-held power tool when the evaluation indicates that the removable dust collection device vibrates differently from the hand-held power tool;
continuing operation of the hand-held power tool when the removable dust collection device is arranged on the hand-held power tool; and
interrupting operation of the hand-held power tool when the removable dust collection device is decoupled from the hand-held power tool.

### Claim 10 (depends on 9)
