## Abstract

A computer readable medium comprising instructions to be executed by one or more processors, the instructions configured to cause a system to estimate, based at least in part on signals received from a first position sensor of an expandable assembly disposed along a longitudinal axis, a position and longitudinal direction of the first position sensor; and estimate, based at least in part on signals received from a second position sensor of the expandable assembly, a position of the second position sensor. The instructions are further configured to cause the system to project the estimated position of the second position sensor on an axis defined by the longitudinal direction of the first position sensor and correct the estimated position of the second position sensor by projecting the estimated position of the first position sensor.

## Claims

### Claim 1

A computer readable medium comprising instructions that, when executed by one or more processors, are configured to cause a system to:
estimate, based at least in part on signals received from a first position sensor of an expandable assembly, a position and longitudinal direction of the first position sensor, the expandable being assembly disposed along a longitudinal axis;
estimate, based at least in part on signals received from a second position sensor of the expandable assembly, a position of the second position sensor;
project the estimated position of the second position sensor on an axis defined by the estimated longitudinal direction of the first position sensor; and
correct the estimated position of the second position sensor by projecting the estimated position of the second position sensor on the axis.

### Claim 2 (depends on 1)

The computer readable medium according to claim 1, the instructions being further configured to cause the system to calculate an elongation of the expandable assembly.

### Claim 3 (depends on 2)

The computer readable medium according to claim 2, the instructions being further configured to cause the system to calculate the elongation of the expandable assembly by calculating a distance between the estimated position of the first position sensor and the projected position of the second position sensor.

### Claim 4 (depends on 3)

The computer readable medium according to claim 3, wherein, using the calculated elongation, the instructions further cause the system to estimate an ellipticity of the expandable assembly.

### Claim 5 (depends on 3)

The computer readable medium according to claim 3, the instructions being further configured to cause the system to, based on the calculated elongation, indicate a degree of elongation of the expandable assembly.

### Claim 6 (depends on 3)

### Claim 7 (depends on 1)

The computer readable medium according to claim 1, the expandable assembly comprising a balloon catheter.

### Claim 8 (depends on 7)

The computer readable medium according to claim 7, the instructions being further configured to cause the system to calculate an elongation of the balloon by calculating a distance between the estimated position of the first position sensor and the projected position of the second position sensor; and
based on the calculated elongation, determine an inflation state of the balloon.

### Claim 9 (depends on 7)
