Abstract
A multi-component electro-mechanical flame spray deposition system is disclosed having a first electro-mechanical feeder and a second electro-mechanical feeder, each in communication with a mixing hopper, and wherein the mixing hopper is in communication with a powder nozzle having an orifice, and a combustion torch having an orifice, wherein the orifice of the powder nozzle is in juxtaposition to the orifice of the combustion torch. A method of using the multi-component electro-mechanical flame spray deposition system is provided for depositing substrates on or to articles of manufacture.
Claims13
A multi-component flame spray deposition system comprising at least one electro-mechanical feeder, the at least one electro-mechanical feeder having a metering wheel rotatably driven by a motor, a mixing hopper, a feeder tube in communication with the at least one electro-mechanical feeder and the mixing hopper, and a powder nozzle in communication with the mixing hopper, the powder nozzle having an orifice, and a combustion torch having a combustion chamber and a tube port in communication with the combustion chamber, wherein the tube port has an orifice, and wherein the orifice of the tube port is in juxtaposition to the orifice of the powder nozzle.
A multi-component flame spray deposition system comprising at least one feeder, the feeder selected from the group consisting of electro-mechanical feeder, a gravity feeder and a gas injection feeder, the feeder having a metering wheel rotatably driven by a motor, a mixing hopper, a feeder tube in communication with the at least one feeder and the mixing hopper, and a powder nozzle in communication with the mixing hopper, the powder nozzle having an orifice, and a combustion torch having a combustion chamber and a tube port in communication with the combustion chamber, wherein the tube port has an orifice, and wherein the orifice of the tube port is in juxtaposition to the orifice of the powder nozzle.
