Abstract
A dual-surfaced mirror for a mirror wedge illusion. The dual-surfaced mirror includes a reflective material layer, a thin glass layer overlaying a front surface of the reflective material, a dark mask layer overlaying a back surface of the reflective material, and a thick glass support layer coupled to the dark mask layer.
Claims20
A method of manufacturing a dual-surface mirror, the method comprising:
- assembling a first dark mask layer on a first support layer;
- assembling a first reflective material layer on the first dark mask layer opposite the first support layer to form a first mirror portion;
- assembling a second dark mask layer on a second support layer;
- assembling a second reflective material layer on the second dark mask layer opposite the second support layer to form a second mirror portion;
- joining a first edge of the first mirror portion to a second edge of the second mirror portion;
- and
- applying a transparent layer on the first mirror portion and the second mirror portion overlaying the first reflective material layer and the second reflective material layer.

A method of manufacturing a mirror wedge system, the method comprising:
- beveling a first edge of a first support layer;
- beveling a second edge of a second support layer;
- joining the first edge and the second edge at an angle to form a wedge;
- applying a dark mask layer on the first support layer and the second support layer;
- applying a reflective layer on the dark mask layer opposite the first support layer and the second support layer;
- and
- applying a transparent layer on the reflective layer opposite the dark mask layer.

A method of manufacturing a dual-surface mirror, comprising:
- coupling a first edge of a first support layer to a second edge of a second support layer at an angle to form an apex;
- applying a dark material layer on the first support layer and the second support layer;
- applying a reflective material layer on the dark material layer opposite the first support layer and the second support layer;
- and
- applying a transparent layer on the reflective material layer opposite the dark material layer.
