Technologies for intelligent slice prioritization

A baseband processor comprising:

• processing circuitry to:
• process first configuration information received via non-access stratum (NAS) signaling and second configuration information via broadcast system information;
• generate a slice-priority network configuration based on the first configuration information and the second configuration information;
• determine, based on the slice-priority network configuration, that a slice associated with a service or application is not allowed in a first tracking area (TA) associated with a current serving cell;
• determine, based on the slice-priority network configuration, that the slice is allowed in a second TA associated with a neighbor cell;
• and
• re-select the neighbor cell in the second TA;
• and
• interface circuitry coupled with the processing circuitry, the interface circuitry to communicatively couple the processing circuitry with a component.

One or more non-transitory computer-readable media having instructions that are to be executed to cause a processing circuitry to:

• process first configuration information received via non-access stratum (NAS) signaling and second configuration information received via broadcast system information;
• generate a slice-priority network configuration based on the first configuration information and the second configuration information;
• and
• determine whether a slice associated with a service or application is allowed in a frequency band, wherein in response to determining that the slice is not allowed in the frequency band:
• determine whether a cell in a neighbor frequency band can be measured;
• and
• determine, based on said determining whether the cell in the neighbor frequency band can be measured, whether to:
• perform inter-frequency re-selection;
• map the service or application to a first packet data unit (PDU) session that existed before the service or application was invoked;
• or
• reject the service or application.
