Communication method and apparatus

A method, wherein the method is applied to a terminal device, and the method comprises:

• registering with a first public land mobile network (PLMN) over a first access network;
• determining that the terminal device on the first access network is switched from the first PLMN to a second PLMN other than the first PLMN and an equivalent PLMN of the first PLMN;
• and
• in response to a state of the terminal device on a second access network indicating that the terminal device is not registering with the first PLMN or has not registered with the first PLMN, determining to delete a first parameter;
• or
• performing both of:
• obtaining first information over the first access network of the terminal device, wherein the first information indicates a reason why a core network device rejects a request of the terminal device;
• and
• determining, based on the first information and information about the second access network of the terminal device, to delete the first parameter,
• wherein the first access network and the second access network belong to different access types.

An apparatus, wherein the apparatus comprises at least one processor and at least one memory, and the at least one processor is coupled to the at least one memory;

• the at least one memory is configured to store a program or instructions;
• and
• the at least one processor is configured to invoke the program or the instructions, to enable the apparatus to:
• register with a first public land mobile network (PLMN) over a first access network;
• determine that a terminal device on the first access network is switched from the first PLMN to a second PLMN other than the first PLMN and an equivalent PLMN of the first PLMN;
• and
• in response to a state of the terminal device on a second access network indicating that the terminal device is not registering with the first PLMN or has not registered with the first PLMN, determine to delete a first parameter;
• or
• perform both of:
• obtain first information over the first access network of the terminal device, wherein the first information indicates a reason why a core network device rejects a request of the terminal device;
• and
• determine, based on the first information and information about the second access network of the terminal device, to delete the first parameter,
• wherein the first access network and the second access network belong to different access types.

A computer-readable storage medium, wherein the computer-readable storage medium is configured to store computer instructions, and when the computer instructions are run on at least one computer, the at least one computer is enabled to perform:

• registering with a first public land mobile network (PLMN) over a first access network;
• determining that a terminal device on the first access network is switched from the first PLMN to a second PLMN other than the first PLMN and an equivalent PLMN of the first PLMN;
• and
• in response to a state of the terminal device on a second access network indicating that the terminal device is not registering with the first PLMN or has not registered with the first PLMN, determining to delete a first parameter;
• or
• performing both of:
• obtaining first information over the first access network of the terminal device, wherein the first information indicates a reason why a core network device rejects a request of the terminal device;
• and
• determining, based on the first information and information about the second access network of the terminal device, to delete the first parameter,
• wherein the first access network and the second access network belong to different access types.
