Abstract
A secondary battery is provided and includes a battery element including a positive electrode 2 and a negative electrode that are stacked with a separator 1 interposed therebetween; and an exterior body housing the battery element, and the separator 1 has two or more first recesses 10a and one or more second recesses 10b disposed between two first recesses adjacent to each other among the two or more first recesses 10a in one periphery facing region (including outer regions x and y) facing a periphery of the positive electrode.
Claims19
A secondary battery comprising:
- a battery element including a positive electrode and a negative electrode that are stacked with a separator interposed between the positive electrode and the negative electrode;
- and
- an exterior body housing the battery element,
- the separator having two or more first recesses and one or more second recesses disposed between two first recesses adjacent to each other among the two or more first recesses in one periphery facing region facing a periphery of the positive electrode.
A method of manufacturing a secondary battery, the method comprising:
- a battery element production step of stacking a positive electrode and a negative electrode with a separator interposed between the positive electrode and the negative electrode to produce a battery element;
- pressure-bonding a part of the battery element in a thickness direction to form the each first recess and the each second recess;
- housing the battery element pressure-bonded in an exterior body;
- injecting an electrolyte into the exterior body housing the battery element;
- degassing an inside of the exterior body into which the electrolyte is injected;
- and
- sealing the exterior body degassed.
