Method and Apparatus for Acquiring a Position of a Region to be Examined for a Medical Imaging Apparatus

A method for acquiring a position of a region to be examined of an object for a medical imaging examination, the method comprising:

• manually positioning, by a medical operator, a marker element at the region to be examined of the object;
• acquiring, by acquisition apparatus, a position of the marker element;
• ascertaining a projection position of a feedback marking based on a correction factor in a z-direction;
• projecting, by a projection apparatus, the feedback marking at the acquired position of the marker element;
• repeating acquisition of the position of the marker element and of the projection position of the projection of the feedback marking until the projection position of the feedback marking coincides with the position of the marker element;
• and
• in response to the projection position of the feedback marking coinciding with the position of the marker element, defining the position of the marker element as the position of the region to be examined of the object.
