Data communication service in a trusted execution environment (tee) at the network edge

A data communication system comprising:

• a trust controller to receive trust data from a customer server;
• the trust controller to verify the trust data from the customer server, and in response, transfer a digital certificate and trusted environment identifier to the customer server;
• a provider server to receive the digital certificate from the customer server, and in response, establish hardware trust with the customer server by verifying the digital certificate;
• and
• the provider server to use the trusted environment identifier to isolate customer data for the customer server in a trusted environment in response to the establishment of the hardware trust.

A non-transitory computer-readable medium that stores processing instructions to direct a computer processing system to perform a method comprising:

• receiving provider hardware-trust data from a data service provider;
• verifying the hardware-trust data from the data service provider, and in response, transferring a provider digital certificate to the data service provider;
• receiving customer hardware-trust data from a data service customer;
• verifying the customer hardware-trust data from the data service customer, and in response, transferring a customer digital certificate to the data service customer;
• wherein the data service customer transfers the customer digital certificate to the data service provider and the data service provider verifies the customer digital certificate to establish hardware-trust with the data service customer;
• and
• wherein the data service provider transfers the provider digital certificate to the data service customer and the data service customer verifies the provider digital certificate to establish hardware-trust with the data service provider.
