In one aspect of pseudorandom data programming in accordance with the present description, on-board die pseudorandom data is written to a target page if retired. In one embodiment, on-board die pseudorandom data is generated using a pseudorandom data generator on-board the storage die. A command issued to the storage die includes a pattern identification (ID) which identifies a pseudorandom data generator on-board the storage die, to generate a pattern of pseudorandom data. In yet another aspect, pseudorandom data is pre-stored in an internal source buffer of the storage die. In still another aspect, timing of an interval of time is initiated and, on-board die pseudorandom data is written to a selected target page if the timed interval of time has exceeded the predetermined interval of time.
A memory system for use with a host, comprising:
A memory system which includes a memory controller coupled to a plurality of storage dies having pages for storing data, wherein the memory system implements logic to perform operations with respect to the storage dies, the operations comprising:
A computer program product for a memory system for use with a host, the memory system comprising a plurality of storage dies having blocks of pages of memory for storing data, and a memory controller coupled to the plurality of storage dies and having a processor, the computer program product comprising a computer readable storage medium having program instructions embodied therewith, the program instructions executable by a processor to cause operations, the operations comprising:
