Active pen, position detection system, and integrated circuit

A sensor controller coupled to a sensor, the sensor controller comprising:

• a first wireless communication device configured to wirelessly receive a pen pressure value from a second wireless communication device of an active pen;
• and
• a controller configured to receive, via the sensor, a first signal from a pen-tip electrode of the active pen when the active pen is in a contact state relative to a touch surface of the sensor and to receive a second signal different from the first signal from the pen-tip electrode of the active pen when the active pen is in a second state different from the contact state.

An integrated circuit configured to control an active pen, the integrated circuit comprising:

• a wireless communication circuit configured to wirelessly transmit a pen pressure value to an external sensor controller;
• and
• a signal processing circuit which, in operation, controls a pen-tip electrode of the active pen to transmit a first signal when the active pen is in a contact state relative to a touch surface and to transmit a second signal different from the first signal when the active pen is in a second state different from the contact state.
