Abstract
Disclosed is an optical apparatus with an optical element per eye; light-control element(s) per eye, arranged on side(s) of the optical element, wherein when activated, the light-control element(s) allows light of at least one type to pass therethrough; an eye-tracking means; and processor(s) configured to: process eye-tracking data, collected by the eye-tracking means, to determine a state of a user's eyes; and control the light-control element(s) to adjust an amount of ambient light passing through the optical element towards the user's eyes, based on the state of the user's eyes.
Claims20
An optical apparatus comprising:
- an optical element per eye, each optical element having an optical power;
- at least one light-control element per eye, arranged on at least one side of the optical element, wherein when activated, the at least one light-control element allows light of at least one type to pass therethrough;
- an eye-tracking means;
- and
- at least one processor configured to:
- process eye-tracking data, collected by the eye-tracking means, to determine a state of a user's eyes;
- and
- control the at least one light-control element to adjust an amount of ambient light passing through the optical element towards the user's eyes, based on the state of the user's eyes.
A method implemented by an optical apparatus comprising an optical element per eye, each optical element having an optical power, at least one light-control element per eye, arranged on at least one side of the optical element, an eye-tracking means, and at least one processor, wherein the method comprises:
- processing eye-tracking data, collected by the eye-tracking means, to determine a state of a user's eyes;
- and
- controlling the at least one light-control element to adjust an amount of ambient light passing through the optical element towards the user's eyes, based on the state of the user's eyes, wherein the at least one light-control element allows light of at least one type to pass therethrough.
