Abstract

An integrated process that combines Atmospheric Carbon Dioxide removal and sequestration using algae related technologies with the production and distribution of electrical power through conventional or Zero Emission methods and an underground Electric Pipeline along with the production, transportation and processing of oil, natural gas, renewable methane, renewable diesel, renewable gasoline, sustainable aviation fuel, salt water, fresh water, carbon dioxide and related coproducts and services. The process can eliminate all greenhouse gas emissions, while creating Emissions Free Energy, EFE, coproducts such as fresh water, ammonia fertilizers, plastics, chemicals, renewable energy resources, electricity, electrical energy storage, and an electrical driven transportation system.

Dependent claims

A system for producing electrical energy and coproducts, the system comprising:

a Zero Emissions Engine (ZEE) comprising (i) a turbine engine or other combustion engine and (ii) a first electrical generator, the turbine engine or other combustion engine combusting a gas fuel with air or other oxygen source;
a boiler or other heat exchanger, for heat recovery, which produces steam from heat recovered from an exhaust of the ZEE;
a steam turbine which is driven by the steam produced by the boiler or other heat exchanger;
a second electrical generator which is driven by the steam turbine;
a saltwater treatment system in which steam exhausted from the steam turbine and a waste heat exhaust stream from the boiler or other heat exchanger is used to flash dry a saltwater concentrate and then preheat saltwater by direct contact such that CO2 from the waste heat exhaust stream is absorbed by the saltwater.

A method of producing a calcium conductor for underground use comprising steps of:

heating calcium chloride and one or more salts to a molten state in an electrochemical cell having an anode and a cathode;
applying a DC voltage across the anode and the cathode to induce an electrical current which passes through the electrochemical cell to produce chlorine at the anode and a calcium metal at the cathode, the calcium metal forming one or more rods;
and
applying an aluminum surface treatment to each of the one or more rods while purging with an inert gas.

growing gigatons of algae that captures CO2 from engine exhaust or directly from the atmosphere using the algae production panel, APP,
by processing and sequestering the algae for hundreds of years in depleted oil and gas formations, other underground saltwater formations, caverns or voids and surface impoundments created by excavation and covered by membrane and soil or water using the algae related technologies, ART;
